Welcome

This is the official website for the band 24*13.  24*13 has been playing together heading into their fourth year. Jack McKee and Kevin Kirland had been playing together for a couple of years and were looking for a lead guitarist and singer. In a rather fortuitous twist of fate Jack and Kevin met Josh McGowan a talented guitarist, songwriter and singer. They decided to join ranks and 2413 Bandformed 24*13 and have not looked back. Early on Jack, Kevin and Josh considered a number of different names for the band and finally settled on 24*13. The name of the band is derived from a police beat within the Chicago Police Department which is located in the 24th District (Rogers Park).  In the summer of 2009, the trio decided to become a quartet by asking the very talented Erin Egan to join the band.  Erin’s talents have added a whole new dimension to the bands music and on stage persona that has been well received by the band's loyal following of fans.

24*13’s music is rooted in Rock & Roll and Rhythm & Blues, but they have an understanding and appreciation of all different types of music. 24*13 has an extensive catalogue of original material of which the music and lyrics are both relevant and inspirational. They also do great covers of songs ranging from artists such as Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and U2 to Buddy Guy and John Mayer.

Over the past four years, 24*13 has been busy. They have recorded 3 CD’s. The first was recorded in the summer of 2007 and is titled The Way. It consists of 7 original songs and 3 covers. The second, recorded in the summer of 2008, is titled Tempted Fate and consists of 8 original songs. The third recorded in the summer of 2009 is titled Tired Dizzy & Hot and consists of 4 original songs and 1 cover. The band also has a nice catalogue of CD’s and DVD’s from the majority of their live shows over the last four years.

2413 Band24*13 has played numerous live shows over the past four years.  Some of their most recent shows during the summer of 2009 included Edgebrook Fest and Edison Park Fest.  The band is very proud of something they started three years ago and has now become a Christmas Holiday tradition.  For the past three years, 2008, 2009 and 2010, 24*13 has held a Christmas Holiday Benefit show to help raise money for members of the Chicago Police Department who have been fighting for our country in Iraq and Afghanistan.  The shows have drawn more fans each year and this years show held on January 2, 2010 at the Irish American Heritage Center was the most successful to date.  These concerts have raised over $5,000.00 which the Chicago Police Department’s Police Chaplains Ministry has used to help send essential supplies to the troops.  The most recent show (02Jan10) was attended by a large number of the bands fans and supporters.  24*13 played one of their best shows and a great time was had by all.

24*13 would like to thank all of their loyal fans for coming out to see their shows and for their continued support.  Click here to find out where 24*13 will be playing next.
